Discussion Question

What kinds of teaching materials do you use to enrich and adapt your coursebooks?

  1. I use appealing articles that have to do with my students' interests. For example those regarding eating desorders, emotions, conflict management etc. The idea is that through this content the students can learn forms and use them to express what they feel and think in a meaningful fashion.

  2. Hi partners. This is a good question to reflect in our current activity.
In my English classes, normally I use some resources to teach such as (photocopies, flash cards, videos, games) especially at the begin of the classes as a warming up activity in order to open students mind; beside, I consider, that the usage of resources depend on the theme you are going to teach; so, materials are useful to encourage students' motivation.

  3. sometimes I use video clips related to the topic as a warming up activity. or flashcards to teach vocabulary. or some copies with games or reading passages or exercises, so that the students can practice what they learnt during the class.
Also I use the materials created by the students with other different classes.

  4. I like to use news, songs, movies. It depends of the topic I am working with. I rememmber for my Social Studies class about the France revolution I use a movie as a warming up. The MAria Antoniette´s movie. My students were happy because in that way when I started to explain the topic, they related the new knowldge with the information they got from the movie.
